It has been my good fortune to know Karleen Farnsworth for about 8 years now.  I have been a trainer, breeder, vet tech, farrier and humane officer for about 30 years, but no one knows all the answers and whenever I get stumped, I know I can always call Kar and between us we usually come up with a solution.  We speak on the telephone at least 3 – 4 times a week because I value her knowledge as well as her outlook on life!
Kar’s first concern is ALWAYS the horse’s best interests.  She WILL NOT compromise those interests for any of the current “fad” disciplines.  She will take however much time is needed to work with a horse to work through it’s individual problems and/or fears.  For example, I had a client , just yesterday, ask me:   “Well what is the exact angle that a Tennessee Walker’s feet should be trimmed to?”.  My answer was that each and every horse is different, and therefore, you must look at what is right for that horse.  Karleen understands this better than anyone else that I know!  Her primary interest is not to produce a “top show horse” using inhumane methods like heavy chains, heavy weighted shoes, soring etc.  If that’s what you want done, you better look somewhere else!  If you want a trainer that will tell you, “Well lady/sir, I can train that outta your horse in 1 month and it’s gonna cost you $XXX”, don’t go to Karleen!

If your goal is to have a happy, healthy trustworthy horse, then Karleen is the person for you.
Karleen often works as a rehabilator of horses that have not been dealt the best hand in life.  Some of them have been abused, beaten, starved or many other forms of inhumane treatment.  Kar, herself, has endured hardships (from being a single mom with a disabled child, surviving cancer, to having her whole house burn down losing every thing she owned including all her tack), but she has the stamina and fortitude to pull it back together!  Through all of this, she has always had a positive attitude, and that very quality is what she brings to EVERY horse she works with.  Somebody once said, “There is no such thing as a throwaway horse” and that is the philosophy that we both share.  I just wish she would move down here so we could work together!!!

Karleen is one of the best instructors i've ever had. And i've had alot. She's willing to work with you. And she actully will stop and listen and help you if you dont understand or dont know why she would like you to do something. She won't put you on a horse if she doesnt believe you or the horse are not a good match or wont better yourself in horse manship. She trains many different kinds of horses and doesnt use brute force. she works with them and gives them time to learn. as she does with you. shes a great person and a great horse trainer. shes also one of my best friends

HI, my name is sandy and I live in Pennsylvania , I am writing to let people know of the strength Karleen gave me when I was lost and confused. I asked a question on a horse web sight that I spent sleepless nights wondering what I should do . I am a first time horse owner and I had bought a colt, just an ordinary one that had no papers or training but pulled on my heart strings, And I realized that it was more then I could handle because of my lack of experience and my fear. Well I received a lot of feed back and they all seem to say the same, " sell him ", " you cant handle him, he will hurt you " and so on, I did not want to give up that easy, and Then came the answer I wanted, help from someone out there who believed in me, and asked me to call her and she will help, and that's what I did. I called Karleen and she was a breath of fresh air, she gave me the courage and took me step by step along the way and because of her help and her faith in me I have begun to start the things I need with my colt so me and my horse will make it as a team through lifes journey.
Thanks  Kar,
Sandy
